Description
Revolution Media Network would be an online media marketplace like Apple iTunes including mp3s, movies, and books. What would make it different than anything ever seen before is free media coverage of candidates running for office. This would eventually enable the ordinary citizen without a lot of money to run for mayor, city councilman, or even congress. The network would also sponsor online debates to put the focus back on issues. Basically helping the next generation of kids get involved in their communities and systems of representation.
The revolutionary concept of RMN is that anybody, not just people on major labels and publishers, could upload and market their original work for 25 to 50 cents a track, with progressive percentages going straight to the artist, and 20% of all revenue going towards securing through legal channels the lands of indigenous tribes across the American hemisphere. Rainforest Action Network has shown this can be done for pennies an acre, and we could focus on helping save the Amazon rain forest and unrepresented peoples.Expectations
Improving the communications of local music community and greater online community by creating non-centralized facilitating substructures for communities to perform the media/economic functions previously ascribed only to vertical organizations. (realistic)
