Description

We already have a web site (www.bytesforall.org)and a very popular mailing list. Everyday we're receiving huge information and there are plenty of relevant information coming in that needs to be updated quite frequently. So we are planning to develop an "Auto-Updatable" system where we assume to have the following facilities:

1. It would be under Bytes for All domain and would be under different sub-categories (such as bytesforall.org/e-governance (where e-governance topics would be accomodated) or bytesforall.org/rural_connectivity etc.)

2. Updating would be done through mail based system i.e by sending mail from the listed moderators and by approving it, it'd be automatically updated to the respective sections. For different sections we've different mailing addresses. Such as for e-governance issues, e-governance@bytesforall.org.. This is somewhat similar to what is available at yahoogroups: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/bytesforall_readers/messages

(3)System would be designed so that we can have as many sections as possible and/or we can easily create one. You can have a look something at: www.bytesforall.org/news We tried this one but this is based on online updating which didn't work for us because it is based on people's online presence for a good amount of time. So we want something auto-datable that can be managed by sending mail to respective accounts.

(4) We don't have any choice for language. But would prefer if the students can use PHP. We're always a big supporter of freeware, though our site is still based on NT based server.

What proposer can provide for Evergreen

Bytes for All web site is a volunteer's network from South Asia. But this is already widely known and very popular network. We'd circulate and would provide all possible recognition to the people who'd be working to build it up.
