Smith Center, KS

Smith Center, United States

Description

The project would entail developing a method for our retail stores to market their products over the web.

Expectations

We would like to see this type of market expand our businesses and be an example to others that, due to the internet, one can live anywhere they want to and make a good living. We would like to attract people to the area who would telecommute and then be able to live in a small community
where you know your neighbors
where people care about each other,
where the bank, grocery, post office, library, theater, hardware store, pharmacy, etc. are within a few blocks of their home
where there hasn

What proposer can provide for Evergreen

We could provide your students with real-life situations and on-the-job experience that would come in handy when they seek employment after graduation. If they do a good job for us, we would be happy to provide letters of recommendation to their prospective employers.

Reasons to collaborate

Collaboration with a team of students should provide us with state-of-the-art technology and expertise in areas that not many of our citizens are equipped to handle.

Subject: Answer to questions posed in previous email from you

Dear Mr. Schuler:
In your email (below) you asked for another contact person. I have an
excellent one for us! Galen Lambert (galen@uscenter.net), who owns
"Computer Solutions" based here in Smith Center. He is willing to let
us begin by using space in his facility here on Main Street, and he
indicates that it should be no problem to set up the platform you
require with your help. Using a Windows 2000 environment is completely
feasible, and we estimate that the cost of getting set up with a Linux
operating system, Apache server, PHP, and MySQL as needed for our
software should be inexpensive since much is in the public domain. We
feel that we would be way ahead of the game even if we ended up with a
prototype system that we could further develop.

We are excited to work with your students and are quite hopeful that
they will decide to work with us as well.
Sincerely,
Bobbi Miles
