CIS Project Portfolio: Section 1:

Project Summary

In your project summary, you should attempt to present a clear, concise description of what the project is all about. Come up with an engaging way to get across the most important ideas about the community being served, the application being created, the overall goals of the project, and the people involved. More details about all of these things will be provided in other parts of your project portfolio, so this is the place for breadth rather than depth.

The project summary should be located on the index page of your project web site so that it is the first thing viewed when users click on your project link listed on http://grace.evergreen.edu/cis/2004-2005/ . This index page should also provide links to the other portions of you project portfolio and project web site.

Community Description

In this section of your project portfolio, you will provide a thorough description of the context of your partnership project, the community who will ultimately be served by the application you are creating, and the community partners who have proposed the project and with whom you are working.

The format and content of this description may vary greatly from project to project. What we are looking for is an engaging presentation which clearly demonstrates a thorough investigation of the context of the project.

Group Resume

For the benefit of the project partners and others who take the time to explore your partnership project, you should provide concise, relevant descriptions of each member of the student team. In some sense, this is a general description not unlike the type of descriptions presented in the community description, but the group resume also serves to highlight the background, experiences, interests, and skills of each team member as they relate to the partnership project. It is thus somewhat like an advertisement intended to show off the team and 'sell' the team to the community partners.

Again, the format of this section of the project portfolio is open. Be creative, but be professional!
