Announcements from Fall Quarter
- 1 December: In case you did not get the email about the prompt
for this week's seminar response paper, here it is:
Drawing from at least three of the chapters, identify three reasons
why the Internet might help promote democracy and three reasons
why it might not succeed. Assuming that we'd like to make the
Internet promote democracy, what should people do to help?
- 17 November: The final assignment for this quarter
is now available. Feel free to modify it as long as you provide evidence of meeting
the objectives and compose a worthy, thorough self-assessment.
- 5 November: Details about the Week 7 seminar response paper have been posted
on the 'Important due dates' page.
- 29 October: The next PHP assignment is now available. Preliminary attempt is due on
election day. Final submission is slated for Monday, November 8.
- 22 October: You should have received this by email, but just in case you didn't....
The prompt for the response paper for the week 5 seminar has been posted in the WebX
seminar folders (where you should post your papers by Thursday, Oct. 28). Just so you don't have
to go looking for it, here it is:
Using insights and ideas from the readings discuss how the advent of new computer technology
has altered or could alter the course of your life. What might have been different in your life
in a world without computers?
- 20 October: A reading guide for the PHP and MySQL Web Development text
has been added to the 'Readings' page.
- 15 October: Reminder: On Wednesday of week 4 (October 20), we will be attending
the fall liberal arts forum for Evening and Weekend Studies. Meet at 6 in
Seminar 2 A1107. That's 'A' not 'D'!
- 14 October: The next HTML assignment is
now available. It has been updated recently, so if you printed
it prior to today, you should look at it again. There is an example page
now and even a way for you to submit the form and see what values the
server receives! There are other changes in the objectives and self-assessment,
so check it out!
- 13 October: Three email lists have been created for us to use:
- All CIS students: cis2004@lists.evergreen.edu
- Doug's 12-credit students: cis-fall-2004-12-credit-ds@lists.evergreen.edu
